Thistle Hill – This Winery is also just down the road they have a great selection of organic wines. You may need to go searching for Kevin in the vines.

Logan – At 1320 Castlereagh Highway it is further away than most of the other wineries however it is a must see and the perfect place to stop in at on your way back to Sydney. It is the most modern cellar door in Mudgee – with beautiful views, great wine and a huge fire place to enjoy.

Places to eat in town

Alby and Esthers – Up the Alley 61 Market Street Mudgee – This slightly hidden gem is the perfect place to go and have a relaxing meal. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food, coffee and service are all amazing.

Café 89 – 89 Market Street – Great café for breakfast and lunch, they have a wide selection to choose from and the coffee is fantastic.

Eltons – 81 Market Street – Great wine bar with lots of drinks to choose from and great food designed for sharing. It has an awesome vibe and they can get busy so it’s best to book.

Wineglass – 97 Market Street – This charming restaurant is part of a historic building built in the late 1850s, it was well known as an overnight stop for the Cobb & Co Royal Mail Coaches. It was a substantial brick building, with the restaurant section being used to house the Cobb & Co coaches and store fodder for the horses. They open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serve modern Australian food sourced from local suppliers as much as possible.

Wineries to eat at

Zin House – Lowe Winery – This is the first and only hatted restaurant in Mudgee and our favourite place. They do the most amazing long lunches on the weekend and tapas on Friday and Saturday nights. Most of the produce they use is grown at the winery or sourced locally. If you have the time to try it, you will be glad you did.

Pipeclay Pumphouse – Robert Stein – A modern fine dining style of restaurant that is very popular. They open for breakfast on the weekends and lunch and dinner Thursday – Sunday.
